Very Reverend Archimandrite Dionysios Anagnostopoulos

We welcomed the Very Reverend Archimandrite Dionysios Anagnostopoulos to our parish of Saint Demetrios and our school in January 2021.

Very Rev. Archimandrite Dionysios Anagnostopoulos graduated from Northeastern University in Boston with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Technology. He was ordained to the diaconate in August of 2003, and then on August 24, 2003, he was ordained to the priesthood.  April 15, 2006, he was ordained as Archimandrite. He  graduated in 2004 with his M. Div. from Holy Cross Seminary.

He served at Saint Demetrios in Astoria, NY from 2003-2008; Holy Cross in Whitestone, NY from 2008-2019; and Yonkers, NY in 2020. 

We are blessed to have Very Rev. Archmandrite Dionysios Anagnostopoulos as our Ieratikos Proistamenos. With his guidance, we provide our children with the foundation of faith and love for God, building up the next generation of faithful Orthodox Christians.

Staci holds a MA in Teaching from National Louis University and a BS in Biology from the University of Illinois at Chicago, with certifications in Illinois State Teaching (03) and Secondary Education (6-12) and endorsements in General Science, Biology, Social Science, and Health.

Her professional experience includes: Middle School Science and Health Teacher and Special Education Classroom Assistant for Grades 2th-8th.

Pamela Kostopoulos

Pamela Kostopoulos

Pamela holds a BS in Education from DePaul University, with a minor in Psychology, with certifications in Illinois State Teaching (03) and Elementary Education (K-9).

Her professional experience includes: Kindergarten Teacher at St. Alphonsus Catholic School; Special Education Teacher Assistant at Prospect Heights School District 23; Volunteer Teacher at Vacation Church School (VCS); Teacher at PCA Summer Camp; and Chairperson for Apparel and Holiday Shop at her daughter’s school.

Dina holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Eastern Illinois University, with certifications in Illinois State Teaching (03) and Elementary Education (K-9) and endorsements in Language Arts and Social Science. She is a past nominee for the prestigious Golden Apple teaching award.

Her professional experience includes: PCA Kindergarten teacher, PCA Assistant Director, PCA Director, Third Grade Teacher at Gower School District 62.  Volunteer teacher for Vacation Church School (VCS), Girl Scout cookie mom (two troops), Gower School District 62 PTO Co-President, Hinsdale South Music Boosters Co-President.

Korina Broca

Korina Broca

Preschool Teacher

Korina holds a certificate in Early Childhood Education & Special Education from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with certifications in ISBE Professional Educator’s License (birth-3 grade) and an endorsement for Paraprofessional Educator.   She also holds certificates in Economics and a BS in Business Administration from the University of Tirana.

Her professional experience includes: Greek language instructor at Aristotle Greek School and at Pythagoras Saturday Greek School.

Helen Sarantopoulos

Her professional experiences includes: Kindergarten – 2nd grades, Title 1 Math and English Instructor for high school levels, Language Arts Specialist in Career and Technical School (grades 11-12), Instructional Coach, Curriculum Writer, and online ESL Instructor for elementary and middle school students.

Christina Brales

Christina Brales

Greek Teacher (Preschool, 2nd, 3rd and 4th).

23 years of education experience

Christina holds a BA in Greek Philosophy from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with a major in Ancient Greek and Latin Literature and Philology. She also received a diploma from Thraki University Teaching Greek as a Heritage Language. 

Her professional experience includes: Co-Director of the Pythagoras Greek Schools; tutoring high school students in Greece in preparation for college; teaching all levels of the Greek language in the Pythagoras schools (from preschool to high school); coordinating Greek Curriculum for all St. Demetrios Schools (day school and Greek Schools); attending annual seminars; organizing and executing Greek Programs during the school year

Joanna holds a degree from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and is currently pursuing an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Development, with a certification for teaching the Greek Language.

Her professional experience includes: teaching Greek language classes at Holy Apostles in Westchester, IL and St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago.
