Very Reverend Archimandrite Dionysios Anagnostopoulos

We welcomed the Very Reverend Archimandrite Dionysios Anagnostopoulos to our parish of Saint Demetrios and our school in January 2021.
Very Rev. Archimandrite Dionysios Anagnostopoulos graduated from Northeastern University in Boston with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Technology. He was ordained to the diaconate in August of 2003, and then on August 24, 2003, he was ordained to the priesthood. April 15, 2006, he was ordained as Archimandrite. He graduated in 2004 with his M. Div. from Holy Cross Seminary.
He served at Saint Demetrios in Astoria, NY from 2003-2008; Holy Cross in Whitestone, NY from 2008-2019; and Yonkers, NY in 2020.
We are blessed to have Very Rev. Archmandrite Dionysios Anagnostopoulos as our Ieratikos Proistamenos. With his guidance, we provide our children with the foundation of faith and love for God, building up the next generation of faithful Orthodox Christians.

Father Patrick O'Rourke
Father Patrick O’Rourke was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. After graduating from Whitmer High School, Fr. Patrick enrolled at Ohio State University, where he studied art and journalism. The summer before his final year at Ohio State, Fr. Patrick discovered the Orthodox Christian faith and was welcomed into the Church by Chrismation at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Columbus, Ohio in August of 2008. He graduated from OSU with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism in May 2009. He enrolled at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Brookline, MA in the fall of 2012, where he met his wife, Presvytera Jessica while she was completing her degree at Hellenic College. They were joined in Holy Matrimony at her home parish of Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Austin, TX by His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Detroit on June 7, 2014.
Fr. Patrick was ordained to the Holy Diaconate on Palm Sunday (April 24) 2016 by Metropolitan Nicholas at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Toledo, OH. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Holy Cross later that Spring. He was ordained to the Holy Priesthood by His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, Geron of America at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, New Rochelle, New York on September 18, 2016, where he served as Assistant Priest for two years. He then served as Proistamenos at Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Ogden, UT. In 2020, Fr. Patrick was transferred to The Greek Orthodox Church of Greater Salt Lake, serving as Assistant Priest. During their four years in Utah, Father Patrick and Presvytera Jessica welcomed their two sons, Jacob and Lucas.
The O’Rourkes returned to Hellenic College Holy Cross in Brookline, MA where Father Patrick served first as Chief of Staff to the President, and then as Dean of Students. In November 2024, Fr. Patrick was welcomed into the Metropolis of Chicago and has been serving His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael as Director of Programs and Operations for the Metropolis while also serving at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church of Elmhurst, IL.
Mrs. Yana Memtsas
Director
Mrs. Memtsas is a dedicated educator and leader with a bachelor’s degree in computer graphics from IEK XINI in Athens. She received her qualification for teaching Greek as a second foreign language by the Greek Ministry of Education.
In addition to her seven years of experience at Pythagoras Greek School, Mrs. Memtsas has also served PCA as a Preschool classroom teacher and general substitute teacher, stepping in as needed to ensure that all students receive consistent and high-quality instruction.
Mrs. Memtsas is also the youth director for our home parish, The Greek Orthodox Church of St. Demetrios. In this role, she works with young people to foster their spiritual development and encourage their involvement in church activities, helping to build a strong sense of church community among the youth.
Mrs. Memtsas is a firm believer in the transformative power of play-based learning, as it nurtures creativity and critical thinking in young minds. She is dedicated to upholding PCA’s distinguished reputation in its unwavering commitment to educational excellence. Recognizing that strong partnerships with families are essential to a child’s success, she actively works to build meaningful relationships with parents, valuing their insights and involvement. With a wealth of experience and an infectious passion for education, Mrs. Memtsas is enthusiastic about collaborating with students, parents, and staff, to enrich the vibrant school community and cultivate a lasting tradition of excellence.
